THE HOOK

A call of desperation is sent out by Treucht, the only aid comes from the small states of Rheulgard, in an effort to beat back the encorachment of The Swordhawk, a powerful Anshwegh, and mighty warlord. An expeditionary force, composed of Men, Elves, and Hobbits is dispatched, to combat a greatly powerful enemy. One surprising ally arrives, on the march to war, and a bard makes his name.

THE APPROACH

Tensions have been flaring along the borders between the dwarf-state of Treucht, and the large kingdom of Massenmarch, ruled by Karl Bissel, the Swordhawk, a powerful Anshwegh. The Lawgiver Hans has sent a dire missive to Meister Kluggman of Poden, beeseching immediate aid. While a Rheulgardian expeditionary force is mobilized, and allies pour in from the bay, a lone unit of scouts holds vigil over the Mountains of Silent Watch, on the far side of The Lost Pass, as it is known. *An Excerpt from the Archives of Rheulgard: Two Hundred Rangers spend weeks spread through the forests of Treustap, foraging for food, and skirmishing with stray bands of gnolls. They share intel along the pass back to Rheulgard, as well as with a contingent of scouts from Treucht, who pass their information to the main body of the Lawgiver's forces in Muellen. Tensions have been mounting, uneasier as time passes, evil lurks closer to Treucht. The Gnolls come in larger and larger bands until... A veteran scout, remembered as Beckhill in the archives, foolishly in the dead of night, was reconnoitering the spoor of Trollfoot, a mighty Gnoll. He found himself along the starry shore of Lake Treucht, and a dreaded sight was beheld by him, a serpent of fire, thousands of torches, parading down the Ebbingtruch hills. The day had come. The Swordhawk's forces were here with fire and sword. Beckhill, forgetting his purpose, sprinted back to the ranger camp and raised alarm. Before the last of the scouts were awoken, It was decided. Fifteen men would go into Treumar to wreak as much havok as possible while the rangers in Treustap would send word to both the Army of Treucht, and the Expeditionary force of Rheulgard, while the rest of the rangers would dig-in and form lines of communication between the Lawgiver and Lord-Protector. The Fifteen were known as Beckhill's Raiders. Those who went to witness, saw many Evil men and Gnolls fall. Not one raider survived the scouring of Treumar...*
